2008 CALL FOR ENTRIES!

SUMMER FELLOWSHIPS ~ The Summer Fellowship program offers a quiet apartment and studio, a beautiful, natural setting, time for inspiration, and a stimulating community of artists working in diverse disciplines. Artists and writers who live in New York State (that includes New York City!) are invited to apply for month-long summer residencies at the Saltonstall Arts Colony in Ithaca, New York.

          2008 Summer Fellowship Categories:
          * Poetry
          * Fiction and creative non-fiction
          * Painting, sculpture and other visual arts
          * Photography

The Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts manages an Artist Colony located on 200 acres of stunningly beautiful woods and fields just outside Ithaca, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Each artist has a private apartment and bath, and ample working space. A large studio is provided for each painter/visual artist, and a black and white darkroom is available for photographers. All studios include a balcony or patio. Our Colony chef serves delicious vegetarian meals on weeknights, and the kitchen is kept stocked with basic supplies that residents may make other meals for themselves.

INDIVIDUAL ARTIST/WRITER GRANTS ~ Unrestricted grants of $5,000 are awarded annually for artistic merit by the Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts to artists and writers who live in the central and western counties of New York State.
