Oils, Oils, Oils - I love oils for painting. I grew up with the smell of oil paints coming from my fathers studio (Harry N. Davis). It is not only the smell of the paint but the way it moves on the canvas and blends for rich color. I love the idea that oil paintings can last for hundreds of years. I love beauty and color and to be able to put that combination on canvas is what drives me to paint. I am inspired to create art that will beautify a blank space with vibrant colors. You will find my paintings of ordinary things but presented in an out of the ordinary way. I am a member of the Cortland Art League and the Cortland Council on the Arts. I was presented with a first Place ribbon for oil "Wood Ducks" and Special Awards Ribbon for "Lanterns" at the April 2006 Cortland Art League Art Show.
